Hi friends, thank you for stopping by! My name is Nam Nguyen and I am a hairstylist located in Northern Virginia. Being Vietnamese, I grew up in the beauty business. My older sister owns a nail salon and my brother is a hairdresser. It felt almost like destiny that I too, would end up behind the chair.

 

While I had an interest in hair from an early age, my artistic side detoured into runway fashion during high school. Inspired by iconic American designers like Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen. I designed two full lines of American sportswear, took courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and even tried to 'make it work' during an audition for Project Runway.

 

Ultimately I found that draping on a dress form wasn't as creatively fulfilling to me as painting balayage highlights,  so I enrolled in the Graham Webb Academy in Washington DC. At Graham Webb, I won many student awards and was even chosen as the business student of the year. Since becoming a licensed stylist, I have worked for two upscale salons in Northern Virginia. In 2015, I met my biggest hair idol, Guy Tang. I've been viewed on youtube over a million and a half times, received over 15 professional certifications, and perfected my balayage ombre technique. 

 

My education as a stylist is on going as I continue to learn from some of my best friends in the business (@HELLOCINDEEE) and showcase my work for the world to see on social media.  I love a challenge almost as much as I hate box dye. I hope to get you in my chair soon!
